TL;DR
  • Phase 1: ran two partner integration tracks simultaneously (Zomato + Blinkit) onto the Shelf commerce SDK, launched as the "Eternal Never Settles" campaign on OxygenOS 15
  • Phase 2: orchestrated the expansion to OxygenOS 16 Live Alerts, opening the live-activities space to more partner categories, food delivery (Zomato, Blinkit, Swiggy), transit (Uber, Rapido, Ola) and music
  • Key decision: shipped both a compact 2x2 and a stacked, swipeable widget; order-tracking and quick-reorder are different jobs on the same surface
  • Aligned global-partnerships value with the live-activities surface across India BD, global BD, R&D, marketing and partner product, business and dev teams

The problem

Food and quick-commerce ordering required multiple app-switching steps, and the most valuable, highest-frequency partner apps had no home on the ambient layer of the phone. Shelf had evolved to support commerce widgets but needed daily-frequency partners to prove the model, and the live-activities surface (a glanceable, Dynamic-Island-style space) needed a partner standard before it could open up beyond OnePlus’s own apps.

Goal

Bring high-frequency partner apps into OnePlus's ambient and live-activities surfaces, first as Shelf widgets, then as OS-level Live Alerts open to more partner categories.

Outcome

Phase 1: Zomato & Blinkit commerce widgets shipped on Shelf as the 'Eternal Never Settles' campaign. Phase 2: the OxygenOS 16 Live Alerts space opened to more partner apps across food delivery, transit and music, with the partnerships orchestrated end to end.

Two phases

Phase 1, Shelf widgets (OxygenOS 15). Zomato and Blinkit launched as commerce widgets on Shelf: order tracking, reordering and quick-commerce access from the homescreen layer, run as two simultaneous partner integration tracks on the Shelf commerce SDK and launched as the “Eternal Never Settles” campaign.

Phase 2, Live Alerts (OxygenOS 16). The live-activities space, OnePlus’s glanceable Dynamic-Island-style surface, opened beyond first-party apps to more partner categories: food delivery (Zomato, Blinkit, Swiggy), transit (Uber, Rapido, Ola) and music. This was orchestrated from my work with the India business-development team, global BD, R&D teams, marketing, and the partners’ product, business and development teams, aligning global-partnerships value with the live-activities surface.
